I'm an aerospace engineer who loves period dramas and the Space Race and so I'm the exact niche audience for this show, I'm always surprised that other people watch it too! If you've got something to say, just press the "Pause" button, because we cannot hear what they say, you cannot hear what they say and cannot hear what you say (and I am not even sure you can, yourself as it is difficult to hear what we say when we talk in the same time that someone else)

My one major issue with this season is the lack of attention to Danielle being the only black astronaut on top of being a woman. Even when you see the discussion of the "incident" here, the focus is entirely on what it says about women being astronauts rather than black people. Thankfully, the writers paid attention to that complaint from the fans and the rest of the show has had a lot more of that.

No the Red Socks didn't won the series AT THE TIME ! Just think, Carmen, they won't say something obviously wrong in their show ! Trust them ! And never forget that IN 2004, The Red Socks NEVER WON A MATCH, and that season has been made in 2004 !

While I do agree its super shitty that Gordo seeking psychiatric help would cause him to get grounded, it does kind of make sense. Space travel is insanely dangerous and stressful, you really need to be in truly peak mental and physical condition to do it safely. Now obviously the reasonable thing would be to ground him until a psychiatrist gives him the ok as having worked through whatever issues he has, but realistically if you have an astronaut who has never had mental issues versus one who did have some, they're unlikely to pick the one who did have some for those safety reasons. It sucks, but it makes sense. The real issue is that by being so harsh and stringent about it, they kind of end up shooting themselves in the foot, because people who are mentally unstable for some reason like Gordo will refuse to self-report, so from that perspective the super harsh policy only makes it worse for NASA.

But don't you want your country to know as much about other countries, and at the same time don't you want other countries to know as little as much about your country? You don't understand that??

I am all caught up on the show and love it, this episode despite having the least to do with space is absolutely a highlight. The acting is phenomenal. How to cry for 42 minutes straight.

supposedly the Shannon/Sayid romance was 100 percent the idea of the actor that portrayed Sayid and the show runners were totally against it because they thought it diminished the Nadia storyline which that supposedly were going to do other things with, rumor has it the actor went all the way to the big wigs at ABC and got his way

I think that we, as the viewers, were meant to think that Sun's "I was going to leave you" confession was spoken to him entirely in Korean. It's just that the first part of it was so important, and that context and emotion behind it so vital to convey properly, that the director of this episode opted to make the first part in English rather than having the viewer's eyes reading the subtitles. Kind of like in other tv shows and movies when two characters are speaking in a foreign language, they start out in that language and eventually transition to English - only this time it went in the opposite direction.

I think Sawyer started to imitate the person he wrote the letter to, the person he hates the most in the world, because he needed to be in his shoes to finally find him and punish him, but something he didn't expect happened : he really became that man... And so, he is now the person he hates the most in the world and he punishes himself for being so

We only saw a mini American flag, next to his bed but we don't know exactly if it was his or if it was the packaging af a food, we don't see precisely, it's a little blurry, and he's in the U.S., just like you, Carmen, and you know how many Americans have American flag in their home, that does not mean they're soldiers

The fact Locke was quadriplegic for 4 years and then he could walk again after the plane crash is his secret he told about to Walt... As he told to him, a miracle happened to him

You're like the only person that ever immediately thought Walt did it. Most people assumed it was Locke on first watch. One mild criticism, and I mean this in the nicest way because I enjoy your reactions, but you talked over a lot of Locke's speech, which is one of the more iconic speeches in the series. Just be aware, these characters are prone to monologuing important stuff, and there's a few great ones coming up in late season 1 and early season 2. You may want to give them space once they launch into them, just to make sure YOU don't miss something important. That's all. Can't wait for the next one! One of the best is coming up soon!

Re: Jin, it def is a cultural thing. Shame & honor are taken very seriously in Asian culture. It's on a whole other level than in western cultures. Su*cide b/c of shame is very high in Asian countries (especially Korea).

I'm watching a few different LOST reaction's right now. It's getting hard for me to remember where everybody is right now. I thought you were further along. It's hell to get old. That was a super good call on Walt very early on. I've seen this whole show like, nine times, and I know the first time I watched it, I didn't think Walt had set the raft on fire.
